A. Janay Ferguson is an associate with Lee Smart. Her practice is in complex civil litigation, primarily representing defendants.

Originally from Texas, she graduated cum laude from the University of Texas, Dallas, with a B.A. in English. After pursuing a career as a financial analyst and corporate accountant, Ms. Ferguson continued her education at Seattle University School of Law, from which she received her J. D., magna cum laude, in 2000.

After law school, Ms. Ferguson was a judicial clerk to Justice Charles W. Johnson of the Washington Supreme Court. She is admitted to practice in Washington, Texas, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Ms. Ferguson’s professional memberships include the Washington State Bar Association, QLAW, and the King County Bar Association.

Washington Law & Politics named Ms. Ferguson a “Rising Star” in 2005, 2006, and 2009.
