Ms. Severson is an associate with Lee Smart. Her practice includes all aspects of civil litigation, primarily representing defendants.

Ms. Severson graduated cum laude from California State University at Northridge in 1978 with a B.A. in Political Science. She earned her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California in 1981 and was admitted to practice in California in December 1981.

Ms. Severson was actively engaged in the practice of law in California for more than 15 years. During that time her practice included all aspects of civil litigation, with concentration on plaintiff’s personal injury, construction contract disputes and workers compensation subrogation.

In 2000 Ms. Severson moved to Washington and worked for The Hartford Insurance Company Central Recovery Office in Mountlake Terrace, managing a team of nine subrogation claims adjusters. Ms. Severson was admitted to the Washington Bar in November 2004. After admission to the Washington Bar Ms. Severson worked as an associate at The Hartford’s litigation office in Seattle, Washington.

Ms. Severson was Managing Attorney for the litigation office of Safeco Insurance Company in Tacoma, Washington, managing an office of 16 employees, including attorneys and support staff. Prior to joining Lee Smart, Ms. Severson worked as a lead attorney for the litigation office of Liberty Mutual in Seattle, Washington, defending Liberty Mutual and its insureds in complex bodily injury and property damage cases.

Ms. Severson’s professional memberships include the California State Bar, Washington State Bar, Pierce County Bar Association, and Washington Defense Trial Lawyers.
