Janine E. Leary
is an associate at Lee Smart. Her practice emphasizes all
aspects of insurance defense litigation, including general
liability and personal injury cases. Originally from New York,
Ms. Leary graduated cum laude from Ohio University in 1997
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Ms. Leary then
obtained her J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of
Law in May 2000, where she graduated fourth in her class.
During law school, she was an associate editor of the Gonzaga
Law Review and a member of the National Moot Court Team. At
the National Moot Court competition, her team won first place
for submitting the best brief in the region. Ms. Leary was
also a legal intern for Paine Hamblen Coffin Brooke &
Miller during her second and third years of law school. Janine
interned at Lee Smart in the summer of 1999. She was admitted
to the Washington State Bar Association and began as an attorney
at Lee Smart in September 2000.
