Kirsten A. Schultz
is an associate at Lee Smart. She concentrates her practice
in civil litigation. Her areas of emphasis include professional
malpractice, tort litigation, construction and product liability,
and fire and property subrogation investigation and litigation.
Ms. Schultz started her legal career in Seattle as a law clerk
to the honorable R. Joseph Wesley in King County Superior
Court in 1996. In the fall of 1997 she joined the Seattle
office of Hagens Berman LLP, where a substantial amount of
her time was devoted to attorney general tobacco actions.
She was also involved in single-state, multi state and nationwide
class actions involving consumer, antitrust and securities
litigation. In January 2000 Ms. Schultz joined the Seattle
office of Cozen O’Connor in the large loss property
subrogation and recovery unit handling cases involving fires,
explosions, structural collapses, machinery and equipment
failures, and gas and water leaks. Ms. Schultz has successful
recoveries on behalf of insurance company clients and recovered
100% of her client’s damages on several matters prior
to filing a lawsuit. She earned her bachelor of arts degree
at the State University of New York at Buffalo and her law
degree at Western New England College in 1995, after spending
her third year as a visiting student at the State University
of New York at Buffalo law school. Ms. Schultz was a member
of the National Environmental Moot Court Team at Western New
England College and an editor of the Buffalo Environmental
Law Journal. She is a member of the Washington State and American
Bar Associations and was admitted to practice in Washington
in 1996.
