Ms. Sember Izsak is an associate at Lee Smart. Ms. Sember Izsak graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1991 with degrees in classical civilizations and political science. In 1994, she graduated cum laude from the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana where she was a member of the Inns of Court and the Appellate Advocacy Clinic and winner of the Women in the Law Writing Contest for her article The Battered Woman Syndrome: A Fictional Story of Realities.
Ms. Sember Izsak spent the first 13 years of her litigation practice in Pennsylvania, where she litigated matters in a variety of practice areas, including medical and legal malpractice, premises liability, municipal liability, personal and commercial motor vehicle liability, and insurance bad faith. She is the author of several legal writing manuals, including Effective Legal Writing for Paralegals and Advanced Legal Drafting for Pennsylvania Paralegals and also lectured on these subjects as part of paralegal education courses sponsored by the National Bar Institute. In addition to her litigation practice, she performed pro bono work representing abused individuals as part of Allegheny County's Protection from Abuse Project.
In 2008, Ms. Sember Izsak relocated to the Seattle area and joined Lee Smart, where she utilizes her years of litigation experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, and trial in a variety of practice areas. She is currently admitted to practice in Washington State, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
