Michael W. Brown has an extensive background in litigation of personal injury cases. He obtained his law degree from California Western School of Law in 1984. Following law school he practiced from 1987 through 1991 at the City of Seattle in their Tort Division defending the city in a wide variety of personal injury lawsuits. From 1991 through 1997, he was at Lee Smart, emphasizing personal injury defense. In 1997, he began practicing with the Safeco Legal Department defending serious personal injury cases. He was promoted to Managing Attorney and managed an office of 30 employees including the staff attorneys. While at Safeco, Mr. Brown represented clients in lawsuits in home and auto cases involving serious injuries and death claims, construction defect claims and product liability claims. He has tried more than 200 jury trials to verdict, resulting in numerous defense verdicts, and has obtained dozens of dismissals by way of summary judgment. Mr. Brown has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1984, and he is also a member of the United States District Court of Western Washington and the United States Supreme Court. The Martindale Hubbell Law Directory has conferred a BV rating on Mr. Brown.
