Mr. Leitch is a shareholder who joined Lee Smart in 1998. His practice emphasizes school law, public sector tort defense, contracts, and employment law. Mr. Leitch's experience includes general and litigation counsel work for Washington school districts, counties, and emergency services districts particularly in the areas of personnel, supervision, civil rights, policy development, and risk management. Mr. Leitch also routinely appears as litigation binding and arbitration counsel in employment matters, including wrongful discharge, breach of contract, sexual harassment or abuse, discrimination, negligent supervision, collective bargaining, and constitutional rights. He has tried over 90 bench and jury trials during his career. He has served as general counsel and provided training for regional companies in the areas of employment, intellectual property, risk management, and contracts. He has worked extensively in the past in the areas of municipal law, criminal law and prosecution, and intellectual property, specifically copyright and trademark litigation.
