Pam is an experienced litigator who has represented clients in all aspects of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, from pre-lawsuit claims through trial and appeal. Her practice focuses on professional malpractice, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and general civil litigation. Outside the office, she is a mentor to law students and assists in moot court competitions. She has been named a Rising Star several times by Washington Law and Politics magazine.
Pam’s experience includes these notable cases:
- Lauwers v. Regal Cinemas, Inc. and Christman v. Eastgate Theatre, Inc. – In these related premises liability actions, obtained summary judgment because plaintiffs in each case failed to raise a genuine factual issue as to whether either the landscaped area where plaintiff fell was unreasonably dangerous or defendants should have anticipated she would fail to protect herself from the obvious risks of a grassy slope. Division I of the Court of Appeals affirmed each ruling in an unpublished opinion.
- Monk v. Pierson – This legal malpractice case was dismissed on summary judgment as barred by the statute of limitations. Plaintiffs argued the continuous representation rule tolled the statute and/or that the discovery rule prevented the claim from accruing more than three years before plaintiffs filed the action. The trial court ruled that plaintiffs failed to raise a genuine issue of material fact such that either rule would apply. The summary judgment dismissal was affirmed in an unpublished opinion at Division I of the Court of Appeals.
- Reed Construction, Inc. v. James River, Ins. Co. – After a successful motion to exclude damages evidence, won summary judgment dismissing the matter.
